Paris, FR (September 7, 2017) – Versatile has announced that they have sold all international territories for the horrifying holiday home invasion tale with a twist, BETTER WATCH OUT (formerly known as Safe Neighborhood).  The film is a Storm Vision Entertainment and Best Medicine production and is directed by Chris Peckover from a script written by Zack Kahn and Peckover.  The film stars Olivia DeJonge (The Visit), Levi Miller (Pan), Ed Oxenbould (The Visit), Aleks Mikic and Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers), with Virginia Madsen (Sideways, Joy) and Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld). It was produced by Brett Thornquest, Brion Hambel, Sidone Abbene and Paul JensenSteven Matusko, Shane Abbess and Lorenzo De Maio served as executive producers on the film.

International sales include Universal Pictures Home Entertainment Content Group (UPHE Content Group) for the UK and Australia (which intends to release the film in both territories theatrically, as well) together with a number of other key markets, Constantin for all German-speaking, Wild Bunch for France, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong & Taiwan, Storm Pictures for South Korea, Shooting Stars for the Middle East, Green Media for Vietnam, M Pictures for Thailand, and Pioneer for Philippines.

“We’re certainly thrilled to be working with UPHE Content Group, Constantin, Wild Bunch and all of our new distribution partners around the globe leading up to the release of BETTER WATCH OUT this upcoming holiday season,” said producers Brion Hambel and Brett Thornquest.  “It’s time to get a little naughty this year because Santa Claus isn’t the only one coming to your town!”

BETTER WATCH OUT has already played at numerous prestigious festivals around the world to rave reviews, including Fantastic Fest Austin, Sitges, Monster Fest, White Nights, Torino, Paris, Telluride Horror, Brussels International Fantastic Fest (where it was awarded The Golden Raven) and most recently Fantasia Fest (Montreal), where it won the Audience Award for the Best North American/South American/European Feature.

12-year-old Luke’s parents leave Luke (Miller) in the more-than-capable hands of his babysitter, Ashley (DeJonge), as they head off to a holiday party for the evening. And this just might be the magical night Luke can finally win over Ashley’s love (in his mind at least). However, Ashley is every bit as sharp and quick-witted as she is beautiful and expertly avoids making a potentially embarrassing situation worse. She’s finally put to the test when she and Luke find themselves in the middle of a terrifying home invasion. But Director, Chris Peckover, skillfully then turns this yuletide thriller into a twisted, intelligent, dark comedy … turning at least a couple different genres on their heads. Imagine Home-Alone-Meets-American-Psycho. Yup … Christmas just came early. You’re welcome.

The above international sales compliment the recently announced acquisition by Well Go USA for all rights to North America.  XYZ Films brokered the North American deal on behalf of the Storm Vision and Best Medicine.

BETTER WATCH OUT has recently played at a number of additional film festivals around the globe (including the UK’s FrightFest) preceding its upcoming worldwide release by its various distributors in October of this year, just in time for the holiday season.
