Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant has announced that award winning Australian Actress Deborah Mailman will join the Board of the Sydney Opera House.
Ms Mailman will fill the Performing Artist vacancy on the Board.
“Deborah Mailman is an outstanding talent who has contributed to Australia’s Arts and Cultural sector through film, television and the performing arts,” Mr Grant said.
“Deborah has starred in acclaimed television series The Secret Life of Us, Offspring and Mabo and iconic films The Sapphires, Bran Nue Dae and Radiance. She has also appeared on stage in numerous productions.
“Deborah will be a fantastic asset to the Board and I wish her all the best.” Acting Chair Helen Coonan said she was thrilled with the appointment.
“Deborah Mailman is a great Australian talent who will be a valuable contribution to the Trust,” Ms Coonan said.
Mr Grant reaffirmed Ms Coonan will stay on as Acting Chair of the Trust until after the election.
